Cute cottage in the world's best
neighborhood!!
Generally, Pacific Grove is a very desirable place to live or visit, but the couple of blocks near Lover's Point are especially compelling--just up from the historic Lover's Point beach, just a half block from downtown.
This part of town is known as the Pacific Grove Retreat--the "Retreat". When this building was constructed, about a hundred years ago, many of the homes were used as weekend retreats for SF Bay Area families, so they were adequate for short term living, but not luxurious. In fact, this use continues for many of the homes in the "Retreat;" many are used as second homes, often for residents of the
urban areas to the north.
This property is about 600 square feet, on a
narrow lot. It has new carpet, fresh interior paint, gas heat,
plus a wood-burning fireplace in the living area. There are two
bedrooms and one bath, an adequate kitchen, a closed porch to the
rear, and a small rear yard for gardening or gatherings.
The house is more-or-less in original configuration, however, it is quite
livable as-is. Or, it could be an extensive remodel project, as have been many of the neighboring properties. This cottage is priced at $620,000, making it one of the least expensive properties available in Pacific Grove.
